Transmitting Station Licence

Only radio-communication equipment licenced by the Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM) may be used in the Maldives.

Guidelines for the use of CB Equipment

1. CB transceivers should be used in the frequency band 26-28MHz.

2. Maximum permissible power for CB transceiver is 12W.

3. License has to be renewed yearly. Those failing to do so, will get their licence cancelled.

4. In the case when equipment is no longer used, CAM must be notified in writing for cancellation of the license.


Guidelines for the use of HF Equipment

1. HF transceivers should be used in the frequency band 2-30MHz.

2. Maximum permissible power for HF radios is 75W for land.

3. License has to be renewed yearly. Those failing to do so, will get their licence cancelled.

4. In the case when equipment is no longer used, CAM must be notified in writing for cancellation of the license.



Guidelines for the use of VHF/UHF Equipment

1. VHF/UHF transceivers should be used in the frequency band 30-900MHz.

2. Maximum permissible power for VHF/UHF radios is 10W for base station and 5W for handset.

3. License has to be renewed yearly. Those failing to do so, will get their licence cancelled.

4. In the case when equipment is no longer used, CAM must be notified in writing for cancellation of the license.
